Vivian Walsh, Treasurer

Ms. Walsh, a founding member of the TWILA board, has more than 25 years of experience working in various finance roles for not-for-profit organizations in the Hudson Valley.

For the 10-year period ending in 1999, Ms. Walsh worked in the finance group for the Cornell Cooperative Extension of Dutchess County, where she served as its Finance Manager.  Since 1999, she has worked for the Dyson Foundation located in Millbrook, New York, steadily rising through the accounting ranks to the role of Director of Finance, a position she has held since September 2010.  She is a member of the Foundation of Financial Officers group, a not-for-profit professional membership organization consisting of 200 foundations in the Unites States, Great Britain, the Netherlands, Denmark, Germany, Switzerland and Israel.

Ms. Walsh also has generously volunteered her professional skills to several Hudson Valley not-for-profit corporations, such as the Pine Plains Free Library, where she has served on the Board since 2012, and has held the corporate role of Secretary (2016), and currently serves as its Vice President (2017).  In addition, she serves on the Board of the Hudson Valley Blue Grass Association, where she currently serves as its Treasurer, provides ongoing accounting and tax assistance, and has played a pivotal role in working with the Internal Revenue Service and the State of New York to reinstate its non-profit status.  She also plays a mean stand-up bass.

Ms. Walsh has lived on the shores of Twin Island Lake since 1996 with her husband, Kevin, their dog Peedy and a menagerie of other pets and livestock.  Ms. Walsh is an avid camper, kayaker and fisher-person, and is passionate about the mission of TWILA.
