Hollis Gonerka Bart, President
Ms. Bart is a practicing attorney with 30 years’ experience providing advice and counsel to an international clientele, primarily in the retail, consumer, financial services, non-profit, and arts and entertainment industries. Known for her judgment and highly strategic approach to problem-solving, Ms. Bart has become a trusted advisor to many long-standing clients for whom she has helped attain goal-driven results and risk-managed approaches to their legal issues. She serves as general outside counsel to businesses and non-profit organizations.
Ms. Bart frequently counsels clients and intermediaries on identifying and addressing potential conflicts of interest, setting up mechanisms designed to preserve important privileges to facilitate protected dialogue on issues of importance, and providing corporate governance advice. Ms. Bart is also an experienced negotiator of complex business arrangements, and employment documentation and separation packages for top-tier executives.
Ms. Bart has appeared in federal and state trial and appellate courts around the country in a wide range of business litigation, employment, art and intellectual property matters, as well as environmental impact issues. She is a member of the American Bar Association and the Dutchess County Bar Association, and has offices in New York City and Pine Plains, New York, where she has owned property on Twin Island Lake since 2004.
Ms. Bart serves on the boards of, and provides pro bono advice and counsel to, TWILA and Pine Plains Memorial Hall, a not-for-profit corporation established to refurbish a historically significant performance hall, which when restored, will provide area residents and tourists with entertainment, cultural arts and community activities.
In her free time, Ms. Bart enjoys boating, cooking and restoring home furnishings.
